Jim was one of my best friends during Middle and High School. He loved hard work and building things. He cut grass and raked leaves for income and had quite a business at that young age. My parents moved our home when WHY 44 came through and gradually did major upgrading/rehab/additions. My dad would let us work on the house each weekend. We would spend most of the weekend learning and doing major construction. Jim and I did yard jobs together, and at one point worked together in my dad’s stone business. Jim and I had many overnights and did some father-son canoeing trips. At one point I was able to stay with Jim and his family for a few weeks one summer when our house was moved. That was one of the most special times in my life. His family was so nice and seemed like my extended family. One of our favorite things to do was to ride bikes and watch HWY 44 being built. Jim was a good friend.
Jim and I both attended Tulsa University and shared many good times and laughs as we navigated our way through those early "adult" years. Unfortunately, we lost touch as our lives took different trajectories, but when my mom died in 2016, Jim sent a warm message which brought a flood of memories, as well as great comfort. I can stilll hear his laugh. I was so looking forward to hearing it again next month and was deeply saddened to learn of his passing.

James friended me on Facebook. I do not recall him but he remembered me. We had a few nice chats before his passing. Rest in Peace.
